Tour Overview
Chiang Mai is home to numerous historic Buddhist temples. Today, let’s visit the 600-year-old Wat Pra That Doi Suthep, a Chiang Mai landmark located near the top of Doi Suthep. After driving up the mountain’s winding road, the final stretch involves climbing a splendid Naga staircase with 306 steps. Inside the temple, you’ll find an interesting copper-plated chedi topped by a five-tier gold umbrella, which holds some of Lord Buddha’s relics. On clear days, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Chiang Mai city from here.
